ABOUT US

Entertaining crowds in the North-East of Scotland since 1921, Kintore Pipe Band are one of the region's oldest continuously operating bands. With a proud history and a rich heritage, the band continues to play at events across the North-East of Scotland and further afield.

The band’s home town is in the Royal Burgh of Kintore in Aberdeenshire, 15 miles north of Aberdeen. A regular on the local Highland Games circuit, the band also frequently plays at local galas, fairs, corporate functions and weddings. In recent years, engagements have seen the band travel to entertain audiences further afield, with performances at traditional music festivals in Belgium, Ireland, Italy and the Czech Republic, as well as participation in such prestigious events as the New York Tartan Day Parade and Shetland's famous Up Helly Aa fire festival.

Currently comprised of 23 pipers, a drum major and 14 drummers, and with a healthy cohort of learners, the Kintore Pipe Band continues to thrive, promising a healthy future as it enters its second century of serving the local community.
